Day 4: Another Busy Fair Day then Tibetan Feast

Photo: Tom meets with fair representatives interested in a cultural exchange with Southern Vermont College.

Hello! Today was another full day at the fair. Made some interesting contacts and am learning the ropes about international recruitment of students. It is a huge business, and quality is mixed. So much to tell about this. I met some folks who are very eager to do a cultural exchange with us at SVC.
The day ended exquisitely when we went to a Tibetan restaurant in Beijing. It may have been the best meal of my life. It is totally different from Chinese cuisine, and maybe even more tasteful. It was almost shocking how different and tasty it was. Staff was 100% Tibetan, Tibetan music and all sorts of' Buddhist and Tibetan artifacts covered walls. It was really quite moving.
Not much to report due to the long work day. Still overwhelmed by the scale. Truly awesome.

That's excellent! I hope that a cultural exchange with SVC will work out.. it would be a great thing for everyone. It sounds like all of your adventures have been interesting! It's awesome that you got to experience some Tibetan music and food.. I'm sure there are more moving experiences to come in such a deeply cultured location. Can't wait to hear more about your adventures.

Thomas,
Incredible trip, I am buring with jealousy!!! The Tibeten food was that spectacular, eh?? Interesting....and good info on the history, I was surprised there is no pollution, I always read the pollution was one of the down sides to their incredible growth. As Winston CHurchill said many decades ago, "Never wake the sleeping tiger..." something like that!!

Keep up the good work, enjoy!!!!
